Good performance and reliability. Fun to drive. Only major problem was the transmission had to be replaced at 85,000 miles. Regular maintenance is a bit pricey but necessary for optimum performance.

  • Always wanted one - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

I traded every 12 to 18 months trying to be happy with something less than a Land Cruiser. Finally I bought one new, a big chunk of cash for us. But we love the truck. Had it 5 years now and look to trade, but cant give it up. I fell so secure when I put my family in her. I have blizzacks for the 18 wheels and have drive through blizzards, never spinning a wheel. We love our gray Cruiser.

  • Too Much $ for a Toyota - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

Dont get me wrong, toyota makes a hell of a car but I believe paying $60,000 for 235 HP is not too great of an idea. I would reccomend buying a Land Rover Range Rover because you get more power and comfort in approximately the same price range, and best of all BMW makes it. Whatever you do, dont buy a Lexus LX 470 because it is the same as the land cruiser, except the keyless entry system opens the rear hatch automatically for $10,000 extra!

  • REPUTATION ABOVE ALL OTHERS.... - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

THE LANDCRUISER IS LUXURIOUS AND TOUGH. YOU WILL BE VERY VERY PROUD TO OWN ONE!!! I THOUGHT OVER AND OVER. HIGH SAFETY, HIGH RELIABLITY, TRUE DESIGN, SPACIOUS COMFORT AND UNMATCHED REPUTATION. ALL OTHERS WILL SHINE AT THE TIME BUT THE LANDCRUISER WILL STILL BE THERE. WHEN YOU SAY I HAVE A LANDCRUISER...ENOUGH SAID...OTHERS ENVY AND ONLY WISH. THE PRICE IS WORTH IT AND HOLDS ITS RESALE VALUE. ITS THE NEXT LEVEL.

  • Decent SUV - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

This SUV fits in with others in its class. Howver, the overall construction of the vehicle can leave a sour taste in the mouth of a trendy consumer.

I am a tour operator in Australia - I use my Toyota L/C Diesel wagon to tour Margaret River wineries and outback areas and wanted to share with you that these are the most highly regarded vehicles in tough country. Good comfort over rough roads and long distances and proven reliability. I love it; my customers do too.

  • On or Off Road -This is the One - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

Tried them all, beats new range rover for comfort and standard items, more class than new navigator, hasnt lost off road lure

  • Land Cruiser Legend - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser

Im from Venezuela, and this is the best suv you can have in this country, it manages everything, here a normal street is an off road challenge, but the land cruiser pass through it. Excellent for hard conditions, you can find this suv from Africa to south america. From asia to middle east, is just great. You can never go wrong with a land cruiser.

  • 235 hp, are you serious? - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser
    By -

This is my 3rd LC and they have all been great but still only 235 hp and all of that weight??? i know, i know its a TRUCK but Toyota needs to update this motor and asap. i drive a lot of miles and will need to replace this soon. i have done all the looking as usual but the quality of this truck rules over the lack of power. maybe im asking too much.

  • fun fun fun - 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser
    By -

Originally purchased as a family utility auto to transport 5 boys to school, scoccer, summer trips, ect... but has grown to be such a fun and easy drive and ride, that it is a tough choice to drive it or my BMW around town for short errands. I certainly am not comparing the toyota LC to the BMW 5 series as far as performance but in many ways it is just as much fun to drive. The driver has suprisingly superior steering control for such a big and heavy truck. It drives comfortable like a car, brakes well and the fun gets even better when you go off road. Treat yourself to a test drive...you will experience an immediate and distint difference in agility.
